Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 September 2026

Henka ("the app") is developed by Mark Wong ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is used.

What We Collect

Henka has no accounts and no sign-in, and your videos never leave your device.

We don't operate a server. Conversion happens entirely on your iPhone. The only data that leaves the device is what Apple's App Store, RevenueCat (purchases) and Google AdMob (ads on the free version) need, covered below.

Your Videos

🎞️
Photo Library

Choosing a video goes through Apple's system photo picker, so Henka is only handed the videos you pick — it is never given access to your library as a whole.

When you save a converted video, Henka uses add-only Photos permission: it can add new videos to your library but cannot read, browse or delete anything already there.

📁
Files

Importing from the Files app uses Apple's document picker, which gives Henka access only to the file you choose.

Imported videos and converted outputs are kept in the app's temporary storage while you work, and are never uploaded anywhere. Henka does not analyse the content of your videos.

Advertising

The free version of Henka shows ads served by Google AdMob. Henka Pro removes all ads, and AdMob is never shown to Pro users.

On the free version, iOS asks whether you allow Henka to track you (App Tracking Transparency). If you allow it, AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to show more relevant ads. If you decline, no advertising identifier is shared and you will see non-personalised ads — Henka works exactly the same either way. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Like any ad network, AdMob receives technical information needed to serve and measure ads, such as your device type, iOS version, IP address and coarse location derived from it, and interactions with the ads themselves. It never receives your videos. See how Google uses data from apps that use its services.

In-App Purchases

Henka Pro subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are handled by RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service, on top of Apple's App Store billing. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated app user ID and your purchase receipt data in order to verify what you own and keep Pro in sync — it does not receive your videos, name or Apple Account. We never see your payment details; those are handled by Apple. "Restore Purchases" asks Apple and RevenueCat which purchases you already have.

Third-Party Services

Aside from RevenueCat (purchases) and Google AdMob (ads on the free version), Henka contains no analytics or other third-party SDKs.

Children

Henka is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your Data Rights

Your videos never leave your device, so there is nothing for us to hand over or delete — deleting the app removes everything it stored. For advertising data, you can reset or limit your advertising identifier in iOS Settings and see Google's privacy policy. For purchase data held by RevenueCat, see their privacy policy for how to request access or deletion.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at the same URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
